Community Grants Assistance

The Community Grants Officer works with community groups to help them plan their projects, find funding sources and prepare grant applications.

A monthly grants bulletin can be downloaded below.

If you would like to know more, or be added to the mailing list for the Community Grants Bulletin, contact Council on 02 6540 1172 or council@upperhunter.nsw.gov.au.

To date the Community Grants Officer has supported more than 80 community groups and assisted in bringing almost $2 million to the Upper Hunter Shire. From 2008 to 2016 the Program was supported by Coal & Allied's Community Development fund.

Upper Hunter Shire Council Scone NAB Introducer Program

Upper Hunter Shire Council and the Scone Branch of the National Australia bank are working together to support community fundraising in the Upper Hunter.

The Introducer Program is a simple way for community groups and their supporters to fund raise.

Fundraising for sports and cultural activities

The Australia Sports Foundation  and the Australian Cultural Fund were established in 1986 by the Commonwealth Government to support the development of sport and culture in Australia.  The ASF and ACF offer an avenue of tax deductibility to incorporated not for profit organisations that are keen to register and undertake a fundraising campaign for sports or cultural projects.
