To date the Community Grants Program has supported more than 80 community groups and assisted in bringing almost $2 million to the Upper Hunter Shire. From 2008 to 2016 the Program was supported by Coal & Allied's Community Development fund.

The Australia Sports Foundation and the Australian Cultural Fund were established in 1986 by the Commonwealth Government to support the development of sport and culture in Australia. The ASF and ACF offer an avenue of tax deductibility to incorporated not for profit organisations that are keen to register and undertake a fundraising campaign for sports or cultural projects.
