A Development Control Plan (DCP) provides detailed planning and design guidelines for new development, supplementing the provisions of the Upper Hunter Local Environmental Plan 2013. When determining a development application, the Council (or other relevant consent authority) will take into consideration the extent to which any applicable objectives or development outcomes specified by the DCP will be satisfied or achieved. The Upper Hunter DCP was adopted by Council on 25 May 2015 and came into effect on 4 June 2015, replacing all previous DCP’s and some Council planning policies. The DCP can be downloaded in part or full by following the links below. Alternatively a copy of the document is available for viewing or purchase at Scone, Merriwa or Murrurundi Council offices.
