There are various casual sporting opportunities available for residents in the Upper Hunter Shire. Some include:
Scone’s equivalent of park running – Tuesday afternoons from 4.00pm, 2km or 4km timed run at Bill Rose Sports Complex, Scone. Open to anyone to join in.
Wednesday afternoon basketball – outdoor basketball hoop for everyone to use, basketball stadium is open from 4.00pm for anyone who wants to borrow a ball.
Scone tennis courts – key available at Shell Service Station, Kelly Street Scone.
Murray Bain football field and Scone Park – goal posts for kicking practice.
The Hub consists of a skate park, ½ basketball court, 2 tennis courts.
Jefferson Park – cricket nets, football goals.
The skate park is located next to the basketball stadium in Hill Street, Scone.
Permanent netball hoops for shooting practice, permanent soccer goals, permanent hockey goals, and cricket nets – all available for use by anyone who would like to. There is also outdoor gym equipment that is free to use.

Three tennis courts, outdoor basketball hoop, outdoor gym equipment, football field with goals, and cricket nets.
