CCTV camera work on Upper Hunter Shire Council’s sewer pipes will be taking place in October in areas of Murrurundi to help plan our maintenance, sewer pipe renewal and relining schedules.
Alan Fletcher, Council’s Director of Infrastructure Services said this work will assist Council in keeping the sewer mains clear and help protect properties from future sewer system interruptions.
“Work includes the cleaning of sewer mains with designed ‘pressure jetting’ equipment.
“This procedure can create an air pocket, causing a backflow of water and it can remove water from air traps causing odour to emanate from domestic drainage,” Mr Fletcher said.
Work will be undertaken in the following areas of Murrurundi:
The contractors for this work will deliver a letter to affected residences and businesses before work commences in that area.
The work will be undertaken between 7.30am to 5.30pm and will commence on 17 October 2016 and is due to be completed by Friday 28 October 2016.
