A new bike hire facility at the Scone Visitor Information Centre (VIC) will be launched at the upcoming Christmas in July Scone Country Twilight Markets from 2pm to 5.30pm on Saturday 9 July.
Upper Hunter Shire Mayor Wayne Bedggood said locals and tourists will benefit from cycling around Scone.
“If the VIC bike hire is a success, Council could take it to other Upper Hunter towns,” Cr Bedggood said.
The bike hire scheme has been organised by Council and funded through the NSW Government’s Better Waste and Recycling Program. The bike hire scheme will be officially launched by Cr Bedggood at 4pm.
The bikes will be available for hire from the Scone VIC seven days a week, homed in a shipping container that is now a colourful artwork, created by local aerosol artists True Colourz.
The July Scone Country Markets will embrace the winter weather with a Christmas theme. There will be family focused entertainment and stall holders are encouraged to get into the seasonal spirit.
Head down on Saturday 9 July to the markets to enjoy the festivities and shop whilst sipping on a steaming mug of hot chocolate.
