A guide to sporting opportunities in the Upper Hunter is now available from Upper Hunter Shire Council.
The guide includes dates and contacts for sports including netball, soccer, hockey, rugby league, rugby union, basketball, tennis, cycling, polocrosse, gymnastics, Taekwon-do, Jiu Jitsu and AFL (including a new women’s team this season).
Scout and Girl Guide information is also included.
Council is also partnering with Scone Football Club and Scone Gymnastics Club to offer opportunities to children and adults with a disability. Council is offering subsidised places in gymnastics or kindergym classes in term two of 2017 for those with a disability. The Futsal program for adults and children with a disability is returning soon to Scone Basketball Stadium. For more information contact Council’s Sports Participation Officer Nicky Western on email@example.com or call 0414 806 074.
Applications have now closed for Council's Sport4U subsidy which assists young people to join sports clubs. Applications will re-open in July 2017. Some sports clubs do offer assistance such as payment plans for families in financial difficulty so be sure to ask.
