Murulla Street Causeway Upgrade

Upper Hunter Shire Council is undertaking an upgrade project for the Murulla Street Causeway to improve safety, durability, and functionality. This project is planned with the consideration of the community's needs and aims to enhance the local infrastructure.

Key Features of the Upgrade

• Concrete Overlay: A new concrete layer will be added to the causeway for increased strength and longevity.
• Side Cut-Off Walls: Construction of walls along the causeway sides to manage water flow effectively.
• Castellated Kerbing: Installation of specialised kerbing to define the causeway edge. 
• Drainage Improvement: A new drainage pipe will be placed to cater for low flows. 
• Erosion Protection: Placement of large rocks on the downstream side to prevent erosion from water flow.
• Concrete Road Approaches: The roads at the causeway ends will be upgraded with concrete for better durability.
• Environmental Permits: Necessary permits will be obtained to ensure environmental compliance and protection during the upgrade.
