Recognition of Service: Heather Ranclaud

The extraordinary Council meeting, held ahead of the caretaker period, began with the recognition of Heather Ranclaud, who has retired after 20 years of dedicated service to Upper Hunter Shire Council. Heather, a key member of the Community Services team in Murrurundi, played a crucial role in supporting vulnerable community members and delivering essential social programs. Council extends its gratitude to Heather for her outstanding contributions and wishes her all the best in her retirement.

Upper Hunter Land Use Strategy 2024 Adopted

Council has adopted the Upper Hunter Land Use Strategy 2024, following public consultation. Amendments were made based on community and agency feedback, ensuring alignment with the Hunter Regional Plan 2024. The strategy will now be forwarded to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for final approval.

Scone CBD Revitalisation Stage 2 Tender Awarded

Council awarded the tender for Stage 2 of the Scone CBD Revitalisation to Daracon, with works valued at $2,323,665 (excluding GST). The project is fully funded through grants, ensuring no impact on Council’s budget. The General Manager has been authorised to manage the project, including any additional works pending further funding.
