Hannah Gillett, Upper Hunter Shire’s Young Citizen of the Year 2025 Hannah’s journey leading up to the Australia Day Awards was shaped by the opportunities that came from attending the Adelaide Leadership Summit last year. She describes this experience as a turning point, opening doors for her as a young leader and paving the way for further growth. Council Launches Scone Mountain Bike Trail Project Council is happy to announce the completion of the Scone Mountain National Park Mountain Bike Trail, opened on 29 July. Funded by the NSW Government’s Places to Play grant, the trail offers routes for all skill levels and was developed with NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and Synergy Trails.
Energy Co Delivers Grants to Cassilis future infrastructure Cassilis is set to benefit from a substantial $11.2 million funding boost, with the NSW Government confirming on Friday that Upper Hunter Shire Council’s applications to the Legacy Infrastructure Fund have been successful. The NSW Government has committed $45 million for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Legacy Infrastructure Fund, to provide funding for infrastructure projects.
Hunter Warbirds: Council Resolves to Enter New Lease Arrangement Upper Hunter Shire Council has resolved to enter into a five-year commercial lease with aviation professionals Ross Pay and Paul Bennet to operate Hunter Warbirds. Council will now begin finalising the agreement.
