Moonan Brook Cemetery

This cemetery, which was dedicated to the area in 1874, is one of the towns few remaining features from an era when Moonan Brook was a thriving gold mining community. The gold mining era started in 1865. First recorded burials date back to 1875. Monuments were predominantly made with sandstone and marble headstones featuring the wrought iron fencing which was a feature item of the early era.

The cemetery stands on a steep south facing slope looking over the valley and Barrington Tops to the south east.
