Join Our Rural Roads Advisory Committee: Nominations Now Open

On display until 28 April 2025, 04:30 PM

Upper Hunter Shire Council invites expressions of interest from community members keen to help shape the future of our local rural roads.

The Rural Roads Advisory Committee plays an important role in monitoring the effectiveness of Council’s Road Maintenance Program and providing advice on how it can be improved — both operationally and strategically.

This is your opportunity to represent your community and provide meaningful input into how Council maintains and manages our rural road network.

About the Committee
The Rural Roads Advisory Committee is made up of:

  • Two (2) Councillors plus one alternate
  • Up to eight (8) community members, with representation from Aberdeen, Scone, Murrurundi, Merriwa and Cassilis

The committee meets every six months, or as determined by the Chair, and reports directly to Council’s Infrastructure Services Committee.

Discussions within the committee focus on broader road maintenance policies and processes — it is not a forum for individual road complaints or CRM matters.

Nominations Open: Tuesday 1 April 2025
Nominations Close: 4:30pm Monday 28 April 2025
