Family Day Care: Safe, Fun, and Personalised Learning

fdc-logo.jpg

Family Day Care offers a nurturing home setting where children learn and build friendships in small groups. Our tailored programs include activities like singing, storytelling, music, and dress-ups, along with calm spaces for rest. With parental permission, educators also take children on local outings to places like the library or park.

Since 1979, with Upper Hunter Shire Council being the approved provider, Upper Hunter Family Day Care, has served the region, offering government-assisted Education and Care for eligible families.

Our registered educators follow national Education and Care standards, providing attentive, personalised care with a family-oriented approach.

Our Educators are qualified Early Childhood Educators who comply with Government education and care regulations, and the National Quality Framework(NQF) and are regularly monitored and supported by experienced professional staff at the Co-ordination Unit.  The Government carries out inspections on the service, in the same manner as Long Day Care Centres and Preschools.

In Family Day Care, the ratio is one Educator for up to seven children at any time, and there can be no more than four children who are under school age, making the service very individually focused compared to other forms of education and care. Children of different ages can mix readily in a natural family environment.
