At Upper Hunter Shire Council, we're committed to sustainable farming and environmental protection. That's why we're proud to support the drumMUSTER program, a national initiative designed for the responsible disposal and recycling of crop production and animal health product chemical containers.

What is drumMUSTER?
drumMUSTER is Australia’s leading recycling program for empty, chemical containers, offering a cleaner, safer, and more cost-effective solution for their disposal. This initiative is part of Agsafe’s Product Stewardship Program, ensuring responsible environmental stewardship and reducing farm risk.
Why Participate in drumMUSTER?
Participating in drumMUSTER not only supports environmental sustainability but also:
- Ensures compliance with Quality Assurance programs and Environmental Management Systems.
- Provides receipts for all containers recycled, assisting in farm management and audit trails.
- Helps maintain Australian food safety standards by effectively recycling farm waste.
Accepted Containers:
To participate, your chemical containers must display the drumMUSTER eligible container logo. This logo can be found:
- On the product label,
- As a sticker on the container,
- Embossed directly onto the container itself.
Containers without this logo are not eligible for the program.
Container Eligibility Criteria:
For a container to be accepted at our drumMUSTER collection point, it must:
- Be thoroughly cleaned and drained, inside and out, with no visible chemical residue.
- Display the drumMUSTER eligible logo, indicating participation in the program.
- Have the cap removed.
