All hairdressers, beauty therapists, tattooists, ear piercers, acupuncturists and other body grooming services within the Upper Hunter Shire area must be registered with Council.
Operators must ensure that these facilities operate in accordance with the Public Health Act 2010, the Public Health Regulation 2012 and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005.
Council’s Environmental Health team may inspect these premises to check for compliance with the above legislation. Operators need to ensure that they conduct their business in a safe and hygienic manner to ensure the health of customers and prevent the spread of infectious disease.
