Arts Upper Hunter drives creative activity in the pursuit of cultural diversity and contemporary expression. This is done through advocacy for the Arts on local, state and federal levels. Arts Upper Hunter publishes a monthly newsletter of activites and opportunities both inside and out of the area, assists artists and groups to access funding resources, provides support and referral services for local artists, are a point of contact for touring organisations, works closely with Local Government in the development of cultural opportunities, applies for funding and instigates projects within the area.
Arts Upper Hunter is one of 14 Regional Arts Boards across the state of NSW who come together through Regional Arts NSW. Through this they are connected to a broad network of skills and resources to assist in the promotion and implementation of arts and cultural practices.
