Barrington Tops is of international significance as it is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area.
Lake Glenbawn State Park, a short drive east from Aberdeen and Scone, offers a diversity of bushland and wildlife. Nature lovers and bushwalkers alike will enjoy the woodland, which provides a habitat for over 100 species of birds, as well as water sports, fishing, picnic areas, playgrounds and tennis.
Camp, swim and hike in Towarri National Park where you’ll find sandstone outcrops, secluded waterholes, diverse birdlife and scenic lookouts, just 25km from Scone. Also within the Shire explore Goulburn River National Park and Ben Halls Gap National Park.
