Draft Scone Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan

Upper Hunter Shire Council has prepared a draft Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan for Scone.

The flood study provides an improved understanding of the potential impacts of floods on the local community and provides a basis for the ongoing management of flood risk on the floodplains of Middle Brook, Kingdon Ponds and Parsons Gully, and the commercial and urban precincts of Scone.

Council is seeking feedback in relation to the study and plan, which is available for inspection during normal business hours at Council’s Offices at 135 Liverpool Street, Scone, 42 Vennacher Street, Merriwa and 47 Mayne Street, Murrurundi during normal business hours.

Exhibition Period: from 4 April 2025 to 2 May 2025

A drop-in information session will be held at the Upper Hunter Shire Council Administration Centre, 135 Liverpool Street, Scone between 2.00pm and 7.00pm on Wednesday 16 April 2025. Members of the community are invited to attend the information session and speak with the consultants who prepared the flood study on Council’s behalf.
